Alpha Release
I did it! You can now play the first alpha version of Kargo.
This post concludes the series of updates on my 90 Days & Ship It! Jam 2021 journey.
The last 90 days have been quite interesting. I had a lot of fun improving the game, drawing new sprites, implementing features, … But I also realized that even a tiny project like this can get out of hand very quickly. There is an enormous number of todos left and so many parts of the game that I’m not happy with. But I made a playable game. In the end, that’s a major milestone for me. Your feedback will also help me to decide what I’ll focus on next.
Next Steps
- Improve the level design and add more levels
- Add a soundtrack
- Add a 3-star rating for each level
- Improve the menus (level selection, fullscreen/resolution changes, custom controller mappings)
- Add more puzzle elements
Note on Development
Since I still have a full-time day job, I usually spend around 1-2 hours a day working on this.
